We are a small independent group of four French Bistrots with a turnover of around £5m. A few years ago I took the decision to contract all the servicing and maintenance off all of our catering equipment and our air conditioning units to HGW and it has turned out to be a great move for us.
HGW are a company that are expert in the maintenance and supply of all types of catering equipment and crucially they have unbeatable response times. They are IT literate and the detail on their job sheets and monthly reports helps us to track exactly where we are against budget with regards to repairs and maintenance. In addition the preventative maintenance agreement we have covers all of our equipment from the gas ranges and grills through to the ducting and refrigeration, glass and dishwashers and this mitigates against us getting nasty surprises, which again, assists us with our budgeting.
Where HGW really add value is in the help with their approach to training; our staff receive training on how to maintain and clean all of the equipment along with how to use it most productively. All in all I would say that we have a meaningful partnership with HGW rather than just a supplier-buyer relationship based solely on a mercantile imperative. We benefit from giving the lions share of our business to HGW in that we get very competitive rates. HGW recently designed, supplied and installed our kitchen and air conditioning system at our newest and largest restaurant in Leamington Spa and we are delighted with the result.
